From today — this leap year day, this gift of a day — in addition to my usual free posts, I’ll be sharing some extras for paid subscribers as a way to say thank you.
One of these extras is a new section called Write Life. Here, I’ll share thoughts and noticings about writing, creating, and living. I’ll draw on my work as a writer, and as a coach, and my experience as a magazine editor. I’ll also be sharing insights from the book I’m working on — I’d love to journey with you on that, and ask for your feedback as it progresses.
If you want to think more about writing, and take away some tools and support for your own work — or if you simply want space to think more broadly about creating work and a life that feels true and good — you’re in the right place. I’ll offer short essays, quotes, reading lists, questions, tools and other things that you can use in your own time. Comments on these extra posts are for paid subscribers — perhaps we can use them as a space to explore all this, to ask questions, share ideas, get feedback. I hope in time that it’ll be a place of supportive community.
To begin, I’ve been thinking about writing — and living — being a bit like a song. Plus there’s some wisdom from Ben Okri, and some questions for you to think about.
